Gearing for Vibrant Community Spirit

Cousins at the Reading Club today marked the end of two-month academic sessions by picking litter along the road to Tekarshong. While ‘young’ cousins take a break for their winter vacation, Cousins Foundation Bhutan will be working to set up a small reading corner at the village temple. This has been pending due to the unavailability of carpenters to fix a few items for the reading corner.

Over the past two months, children at the club had lots of fun and learning coordinated by the tutor, Ms. Dechen. On average each student read 15 storybooks, participated in role plays, watched movies, and written reviews. They also had ample opportunity to practice public speaking and speaking in general for effective communication in English. Overall, all participants were satisfied with the programme.

Ms. Dechen, also conveyed her gratitude to all elder cousins - in her own words “I thank everyone for great help and guidance and looking forward to a similar opportunity in the future as well. Personally, for me, I have learned and unlearnt quite a number of things. Days ahead seem brighter, happier, and joyful with cousins like you all. Thank you!”

The foundation members would also like to thank all parents and relatives for assisting children at the club. That's the way to go for enhancing a vibrant community spirit in our community. We all wish Ms. Dechen the best of luck for her entrance examination to become a professional teacher. We have full confidence in you!

Once again a Big Thank You to Everyone!
