Reflection by Children on the Reading Club

Updated: Oct 11, 2020

The reflection by students at the Reading Club has been put here in their own words:

"I am happy to join this class. I have learned stories of Pema Lingpa. At the morning we deliver speech read books. Sometimes we also tell riddles. From that, I have got confidence. We playing the role in drama was so fun. We improve our reading skills. It is better to come here rather than doing nothing at home. Sometimes we write story and from that we can improve our writing skills. It feels great to be friends. Delivering speech improve our talking skills and also we can do better next time at school in front of our friends and teachers. Madam also tell us different type of stories."

"Here at tekarshong our elder cousins have planned to improve our English skills by letting us read and write. It is an good opportunity to explore new things. When we gather at dungkor we get to share our problems and clear our doubts. We start our day with prayer and national anthem. Then we deliver riddles for fun. If we have doubts our teacher clears it, if not we games or read books. We read about three stories in six days. Right now we are practicing a drama on the wicked wolf. The advantages of gathering at dungkor are that we explore more new things and get more confidence. We get to improve our reading skills because we read stories. We also learn more new words or vocabulary. We also get to improve our hand writing. It is as good opportunity to learn and gain confident. I would like to thank all our cousins for your help."

"It is said ' education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world'. In our life one of the most important things is education. Parents send their children to school to educated and become someone in their life. But now the youth are forced to stay home instead of going to school and spending time with friends. All schools have closed countrywide because of covid 19. But I am very lucky to have an opportunity to study here with my cousins. Here we have to deliver speeches which helps us to gain confident and improve reading skills. We have also learnt about 'mebartsho', a flaming lake, which have a history of Terton Pema Lingpa. It is a very interesting story. Here, not only reading and writing we have also watched video which inspire us. W ehsraed riddles which improve our thinking skills. Learning is more fun when we learn with our cousins. I have received lots of knowledge in past 6 days. I am really thankful to acho Kuenzang for coordinatinf and azhim Dechen for being our teacher".

"Till now I have learned many things. Due to covid we students are not able to go to school. However, I am really happy that I am engaged in englist class. Because of this class I didn't waste my time. In past six days we learned about Terton Pema Lingpa, Riddles and many more. Also this class helped me to gain confidence. My aim for attending this class is that I am bit poor in English. During this six days we delivered speech on different topics. For past year delivering speech was one of the hatest things for me. But now I learned that if you think you can do that, you can for sure, So, we should be positive all the time, So lastly but not the least I would like to thank miss Dechen for her wonderful teaching. Thanks You :)"
